Community Transformation Partners Inc. has launched an initiative called Operation MASK ON! Philly, to combine STEAMIE Workspace equipment with local facilities to create face masks for essential workers and high-risk community members. We are currently working in partnership with the Philadelphia Housing Authority to re-purpose the Vaux Big Picture School’s STEAM Lab into a pop-up makerspace to produce face masks. We chose a strength based framing for wealth creation (career development, entrepreneurship, etc) and health and wellness (Masks, aging in place, caregiver communities).
1. Flattening the COVID-19 curve in Philadelphia's
Donating Masks to essential workers (such as transportation service employees, grocery store employees, etc.) and at-risk community members
2. Health Communication & Education

3. Small business support
Creating a makerspace for businesses who are pivoting their business models to make masks, while we donate to our venue partner to help offset loss revenue
4. Workforce development
Introducing the STEAMIE Workspace as a resource for makers and training hub for community members in West Philly who are seeking new, employable skills.
